K-1       DERMA-KAREÔ   Dynamic (Alternating) Pressure System

Economic & Effective Means Of Alternating Pressure (A/P) Therapy.

The most affordable high flow linear air compressor driven ALTERNATING low interface pressure, digital display control unit. The only system available in the market where the desired patient comfort pressure levels are achieved by varying the flow of the pump.  The first system with variable alternating pressure cycle times (1 to 30 minutes).  WEIGHT CAPACITY UP TO 1,000 LBS.

Control Unit (K-1)

Single high airflow pump, 42~52 LPM (liters per minute).

State of the art micro-controller technology, which provides software flexibility to accommodate any customer changes (custom pressures, times, and functions).  Has a user -friendly, 2x16 bright digital LCD panel with backlight for simple user interface, displays current mode, A/P (Alternating Pressure) time, count down timer, and desired patient comfort pressure levels.  Customer name and phone number can be displayed on the LCD screen (optional).

Easy to use knobs to select various mode functions, custom A/P time 1 ~ 30 minutes, and are also used to adjust the patient comfort pressure levels from Soft 1 to Firm 10 (8 ± 6 to 32 ± 8 mmHg.

Micro-controller adjusts the performance of the pump to obtain the desired patient comfort level.  In Static and Alternating modes the pump is operated at less than 50% of its maximum capacity, thus increasing its original life cycle by 100%.

Max Flow mode with 30 minute timer for rapid inflation of the mattress, inflates in 5 ~15 minutes depending on the size of the mattress.

Provides effective static or alternating pressure therapies.  In A/P mode with variable A/P times, provides dynamic A/P in the entire mattress.  Rapid alternating pressure therapy can be achieved by choosing 1-minute A/P time.

Lock switch on the back of the unit completely locks the control panel, to eliminate tampering of the patient settings, including power switch.

Audiovisual alarms in the event of power outage. Alarm silence mode to mute alarm.  Internal memory always retains current settings during power outage, will resume desired operation upon power restoration.

Dual rugged quick disconnect airflow connectors for rapid attach and CPR deflate functions.  Optional chrome connectors are available.

Control unit is reliable, quiet, compact and lightweight.  For quick inflate please use our K-39 RIDÔ Rapid Inflator / Deflator unit.

Support Surface (K-1M)

Therapeutic support surface consists of superior quality, urethane coated nylon air cushions (16 cell overlay or 16/20 cell mattress) to provide effective A/P therapy with low interface pressures.  Pad overlays or cell overlays are 5” or 7” high, and mattress replacements are 8” or 10” high.

OPTIONAL constant air pressure side bolsters / foam bolsters help contain the patient on the mattress.  Air bolsters can be deflated for easy patient access into and out of the mattress, and also for easy patient procedures.

Low friction and low shear force producing, urethane coated breathable nylon, zippered top sheet, which is liquid proof and highly vapor permeable.

2” convoluted safety foam base or 2” optional air pad base (8” & 10” mattress) to provide additional support to the patient in the event of power failure.

The air cells are connected to the manifold using quick connectors and fastened to the base.  The top sheet is zippered to the base.

Bi-Lumen tubing assembly with dual, rugged quick disconnect connectors for rapid attach and CPR deflate function.  Holds air for hours during power failure.

Complete support surface is made of superior quality materials and is modular in construction.  All of the components such as manifold, tubing assembly, air cushions, top sheet, and foam base are interchangeable, and can be easily cleaned or detached for laundry.

Lightweight support surface can be rolled up easily and has two handles or two shoulder straps, which can be used to carry by hand or over the shoulder.

SACf Support Air Cushion (K-140)

SACf (Optional) foot support air cushion can be used to support patient’s feet and to provide zero interface pressures in the heel area.
